The Dream
Terry Sproul had a dream. It began when he was 8 years old and wanted to go to camp...but he was deaf! His deaf friends refused to go because they were afraid they would not be able to communicate. Terry had the time of his life. It was then that Terry decided that when he was older he would open his own KAMP for deaf kids ONLY. His dream has become a "vision realized".
In the summer of 1992, Terry and Buffy held the first successful Deaf Kid's Kamp. Sadly, in 1994, Terry died of a massive heart attack at the age of 44. He got to "realize his dream" for 3 years!

(1950-1994)The Future
Currently, Deaf Kid's Kamp rents facilities each year in different locations. When Terry passed away in December 1994, his goal was to purchase a permanent site to present many events, including but not limited to: Deaf Kid's Kamp, Silent Weekend, a California Deaf Festival; and a variety of activities on a year-round basis.
Buffy and the staff are determined to continue Terry's dreams and goals.
