Dear Potential Silent Weekender:

Terry (born deaf) was a sign language instructor for 22 years and started SILENT WEEKENDS in 1971 because his students said they wanted more practice outside of the classroom setting. Terry passed away in 1994 at the age of 44! As his wife, I assisted with SILENT WEEKENDS and developed, organized, and implemented the DEAF KIDS' KAMP with him. In June 2000, I married Hugh, a hot air balloonist, who has been instrumental in coordinating our "Las Vegas Hot Air Balloon Festival" to benefit "Deaf Kids' Kamp." We, along with our staff, the Board of Directors, parents of our kampers, and especially the kampers -- hope you will join us with this fund raiser. We can help with your signing skills, give you exposure to Deaf Culture, present an exciting, memorable, and educational weekend, while benefitting our Deaf Kids' Kamp.
