FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Where do Kampers come from? All over the United States and Canada. What makes Deaf Kid's Kamp unique? All kampers attend FREE! We accommodate deaf children ONLY. We are the only FREE American Camping Association-accredited facility west of the Mississippi designed specifically for deaf children. What does Kamp cost? For Kampers - FREE! Sponsorship costs $700 per kamper per week. $100 non-refundable processing fee from Parents. What is our purpose? To meet the needs of deaf children outside of the classroom setting. These needs, as we have defined them, would include but are not limited to: Social contact with peers Contact with the culture of the Deaf Community Educational and recreational programs not available in most school settings What is our program agenda? To help build self-esteem, independence, and social skills. The kamp is also aimed at strengthening family bonds by requiring family members to get involved.
